Stewart Hunter Laing dedicated more than 60 years to the Scotch whisky industry and was one of its most respected and influential figures.
In 2013, Stewart founded Hunter Laing & Co. alongside his sons, Andrew and Scott, bringing together generations of family expertise and a shared passion for Scotch whisky.
One of Stewart’s greatest achievements was the creation of Ardnahoe Distillery on Islay, a lifelong ambition realised in 2018. He remained closely involved in the business throughout his life and took immense pride in seeing Ardnahoe’s first whisky released in 2024.
Stewart’s vision, knowledge and commitment to quality continue to shape Hunter Laing & Co. today. His legacy remains at the heart of the business and will continue to inspire future generations.
