Just like his father Stewart some 40 years previously, Andrew spent time at Bruichladdich Distillery in 2004 discovering the nuances of both whisky-making and island life.
With a love of travelling, Andrew then lived in the Far East for several years, introducing customers in Thailand and Singapore to the Old Malt Cask and Old and Rare brands before going on to work for the Bahrain-based BMMI Group in the Middle East and Africa, involved in both its drinks and FMCG divisions.
Returning to Scotland in 2010, Andrew founded his own independent bottling company Edition Spirits Ltd, along with the First Editions brand and spent a happy few years growing the company before merging it into Hunter Laing in 2013.
Andrew is especially fond of complex Highland whiskies, and if pushed to choose one would probably reach for a cask-strength Clynelish from our First Editions range.
