Independent Scotch whisky blender and distiller Hunter Laing has reached an agreement with specialist travel retail wines & spirits agency Duty Free Global to represent its key brands with selected travel retail accounts in Europe and Asia Pacific. The new agreement will become effective as of August, 2019.
Company Export Director Andrew Laing commented, “We feel this new agreement will prove to be an exciting development in our company’s growth in the duty free and travel retail segments. We were very happy with the way our new brands were received this year at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in Singapore and we look forward to working with Barry Geoghegan and his team at the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes in October. As we continue to develop our product range, we are sure that there will be significant opportunities to build sales over the next few years and we look forward to building our business with the Duty Free Global travel retail team.”

Hunter Laing Director, Scott Laing added, “This new agreement with Barry and the Duty Free Global team will give us a great opportunity to develop sales and distribution of our brands. We feel that our Highland Journey and Islay Journey blended malts have considerable potential in many of the areas where Duty Free Global are strong and we will be looking to place these brands with selected customers. The recently launched Scarabus Islay single malt will also be of interest to many of the operators, and we will be rolling this out over the next few months.”
Hunter Laing is a Scottish owned family company and has been blending and bottling Scotch whisky for three generations. In April this year, the company opened Ardnahoe Distillery on the island of Islay. Hunter Laing will be exhibiting at the TFWA Conference & Exhibition for the first time this year. The stand is H17 and is located in the Blue Village.
