Embark on a journey of smoke and spirit, peat and passion with Hunter Laing’s latest release, Islay Journey.

Hunter Laing, the family owned independent Scotch whisky bottler would like to introduce a new addition to their range of Journey whiskies, Islay Journey, to accompany the well-received Highland Journey launched last year.

The independent bottler, owned and run by Stewart Laing and his two sons Andrew and Scott, are already rolling out Islay Journey in selected target markets. It will be available for all markets to purchase late January.

Company founder and CEO, Stewart Laing says, “The journey to Islay is not an easy one. Getting there takes some time, but the island like its whiskies is worth the effort.”

He adds, “To create this outstanding blend of fine Scotch whisky we have selected whiskies from the finest distilleries on the Isle of Islay. The balance of smoothness and complexity of flavour and aroma comes from blending the best whiskies, some of which have been matured in Bourbon hogsheads.”

Export Director Andrew Laing comments, “Along with my brother Scott, our family have made the journey to Islay for three generations and we will continue to do so for many years. We always look to bring back the best whiskies the island has to offer, and Islay Journey is the perfect expression of our family’s long-term commitment to the island.”

Scott Laing, the company’s Sales Director says “Our new release is available in 70cl bottles right now and we will be bringing out a one litre bottle for duty free and travel retail customers next month. The product will be bottled at 46% alc/vol in both domestic and duty free markets segments.”

Tasting notes: The aroma of the whisky is redolent with notes of smoke, tar and ash, whilst in the mouth there are pungent notes of peat, brine and seaweed.
