The Isle of Islay is particularly close to our hearts at Hunter Laing, and this year we are excited to be taking part in the famous Islay Festival, or Feis Ile.
To mark the beginning of construction of Islay’s 9th distillery, Ardnahoe, Islay legend Jim McEwan – Ardnahoe’s Master Distiller – specially selected six of the finest casks of Islay whisky from our warehouses, which will be bottled exclusively for the festival. An Ardbeg 26 years old, Bunnahabhain 28 years old, Bowmore 30 years old, Caol Ila 33 years old, Laphroaig 30 years old and a Port Ellen 34 years old represent a magnificent cross section of well-aged Islay single malts, from both ex sherry and ex bourbon casks, which will be bottled at natural cask strength.
Jim will be hosting two tastings of these six incredible bottlings during the Festival, at the Ballygrant Hall – on the 30th May and 1st June with places strictly limited. We are looking forward to two evenings of wonderful whiskies, anecdotes and even some traditional Scottish music, along of course with Jim’s inimitable Islay charm. If you have the opportunity to attend either of these exclusive events, be sure to grasp it!
